Modern Apprenticeship Event Tops The Class
Local school leavers and local young people started the journey to success as last night’s Modern Apprenticeship information evening was a massive hit with both young people and parents alike.
Around 120 young people and their parents and guardians attended the event at West College Scotland, organised by Invest in Renfrewshire’s Youth Employability Service.
As well as the Youth Employability Service, loads of other MA providers turned up to offer young people an insight into the modern apprenticeship programme, including West College Scotland, Napier Hair and Beauty, Arnold Clark, CITB, Renfrewshire Council and Scottish Leather Group. Many of the providers had live vacancies for young people to apply for, and said the event was a very effective way to meet prospective candidates for the programme.
The evening also offered parents and guardians an insight into the programme, and answered any questions they might have about their young person starting an MA.
Event organiser Carole Paton said: “I’d like to thank everyone who attended the event, and the team who helped plan it. All the parents and the employers involved were delighted with the turnout, and we’re looking forward to hearing some success stories from tonight’s young people soon!”
