First Minister to address Scotland’s small business community – Global Entrepreneurship Week

Scotland’s First Minister Nicola Sturgeon is set to address the country’s small business community at the Federation of Small Businesses’ (FSB) annual dinner.

The event – supported by peer-to-peer lender LendingCrowd – will take place in Glasgow’s Grand Central Hotel, on Thursday 15 November, with more than 300 small business owners, politicians and key local decision-makers set to attend.

First Minister Nicola Sturgeon said: “Smaller businesses are the cornerstone of Scotland’s economy and vital to our shared ambitions for the country. I look forward to setting out to FSB members, and their guests, my government’s plans to support their future businesses’ success.”

Martin Little, FSB’s Scotland national group chair, said: “First Minister Nicola Sturgeon is the country’s most powerful decision-maker. Her appearance at our event pays testament to the stock that the Scottish Government places in smaller businesses.

Alongside the First Minister, the dinner will hear from Kate Davies, owner of Kate Davies Designs and winner of the FSB UK Microbusiness Award.

Martin Little said: “This year’s event combines an address from Scotland’s most powerful and articulate political voice with an impassioned speech about the power of entrepreneurship. With the event already a key fixture in the business calendar, tickets are bound to be sought after.”
