STEPS To Excellence (Age 18+)
STEPS is a developmental programme that provides individuals with an opportunity to take a fresh look at their lives. Delivered over one or two weeks this short programme helps you to find out what you are capable of achieving and provides you with the tools to make it happen.
Previous participants have said that after completing the course they felt able to try new things and their confidence and self esteem had increased, while many felt more prepared for the world of work.

Positive Destinations (Age 16-19)
Positive Destinations is a personal development course designed to help you build your confidence and develop your employability skills.
You will get the opportunity to update your CV, learn how to win at interviews and meet some new friends. The course is delivered in a four-week block at the Youth Employability Hub in Paisley.

The Recruit (Ages 16-24)
The Recruit is a council-run youth employment programme loosely based on TV’s The Apprentice. The programme sees 40 local young people take part in a series of challenges set by local businesses to improve their skills an individual and as part of a team, and include some practical training. Programmes run each summer and winter.
Recruit candidates will:
- network with industry leaders and develop a better understanding of business
- have the chance to land a job, or a route into education or training
- improve their job prospects, enhance their CV and develop interview skills
- compete for the Top Recruit award, and be involved in the awards ceremony at the end of the programme

Workshops (ages 16 to 24)
We deliver a range of workshops to help you get back into work. Our workshops run on a regular basis and are open to Renfrewshire young people between 16 and 24.
Examples of workshops include:
- Presenting yourself – how to succeed in your interview
- Preparing a winning CV – get your CV noticed
- Using social media to get back to work – find out how to use Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn as part of your job search
- CSCS – preparing you for your test to get into the construction industry
- Meet the employer – a chance to meet local employers and find out more about different job industries.
