The George Street Service supports young homeless people aged 16 – 24 years.
The young person is supported around their housing issues by providing • Pre tenancy training – provide the young person with information that will be relevant to them getting their own tenancy. • Resettlement Support – allocate the young person a dedicated worker who will assist the young person to set up their home and work with them for the first year of their tenancy to assist them to sustain it. • Housing Options – provide information for the young person of their housing options to enable them to make an informed choice about the best way forward for their future housing journey.
The young person is encouraged to become involved with INVEST Employability services through the Community Engagement & Outreach service provided every 2nd Wednesday in George Street. Most of the client group that attend this will be in the ‘not job ready’ category.
How they are referred- All young people who are homeless or at risk of losing their accommodation aged between 16 – 25 years.
