Volunteers Week is June 1-7 and Engage will be showcasing volunteering, aiming particularly at young people and people from minority ethnic backgrounds. Please support our comms by liking/sharing content @EngageNews1 www.facebook.com/EngageRenfrewshire and see below for more detail.
Volunteers Week is going to be a harder year to celebrate that most. For that reason, and as venues and opportunities begin to open up again, we have decided to look at the week as more of a volunteer recruitment opportunity and will be showcasing positive volunteer stories. We will have several themes throughout the week that look at the different reasons why volunteers may choose to volunteer, and the benefits it can bring. So, the week’s themes are:
Volunteering for Mental & Emotional Wellbeing
Volunteering for Community Wellbeing
Volunteering for Physical Wellbeing
Volunteering for Employment
If you have a volunteer story you think would fit well in to any of these themes and would like the opportunity to showcase an individual or your volunteer programme then contact Karen firstname.lastname@example.org
Volunteering & Employability Event on Monday 7 June
As part of Volunteers’ Week (June 1-7) Engage Renfrewshire are hosting a Volunteering & Employability event, and are looking for panellists to share their insights.
The event is scheduled for the final day of Volunteers Week, Monday 7 June at 3pm, and will last no more than 75 minutes, with a purpose of showcasing volunteering and its role within the employability journey. Our panel can each bring different perspectives because it will include a volunteer, a volunteer manager, an employability partner, and an employer; all of whom will plot out the journey a volunteer can take towards employment.
We’re expecting a wide audience, from those interested in volunteering, to volunteer managers, to employers and recruiters who want to learn more about the value of volunteering.
Please join us! if you don’t have any experience of recruiting people with volunteering experience, come along and learn the value of volunteering. If you do, then please be on the panel. Email Alice on email@example.com for more info and to register.
