Invest celebrates 2nd birthday with conference!

Over 150 local partners gathered to discuss employability in Renfrewshire at the annual Invest in Renfrewshire partnership conference.

The conference marked the two-year anniversary of Invest in Renfrewshire, the council’s scheme to tackle unemployment and grow the local economy.

The theme of the conference was Tackling Inequalities, and much of the conference focused on plans to tackle employability inequalities in the future.

Participants from Renfrewshire Council, Skills Development Scotland, Jobcentre Plus, NHS Barnardos, West College Scotland, Engage Renfrewshire, and the University of the West of Scotland met alongside representatives from a variety of training programmes and local schools.

Chaired by Mary Crearie, the council’s Director of Development and Housing Services, the conference sessions combined feedback from past initiatives with future plans, and allowed partners to network and collaborate.

Much of the session was based around groupwork, where individuals from different agencies could discuss and feedback their ideas and opinions.

The day also featured some videos showing delegates more about Invest in Renfrewshire’s work in the area. You can watch them below…
