Renfrewshire Council’s Youth Employability Team teamed up with REEM – Renfrewshire Effort to Empower Minorities, to mark Black History Month.
Black history month is an annual event which aims to recognise the contribution of important people and events from historical times to present day.
The event took place on Friday 25 October in the Youth Employability Hub in Assurance House, a centre dedicated to supporting local young people aged 16 to 24 into employment, training or further education.
It included information displays and a workshop, which gave visitors the opportunity to find out more.
Jay Jay Muyanja, who delivered the workshop on behalf of REEM, said: “It was really inspiring to see so many young people interested in finding out about Black History Month and taking part in the celebrations.
“We hope we can work with the Youth Employability Team in the future to support the young people we are engaging with.”
