Who Cares? Scotland Listen & Learn session – 10th December 2019
December 10, 2019 @ 14:00 - 16:30
Do you hold Corporate Parenting responsibilities? Are you an employer within Renfrewshire? Do you provide support or services for care experienced young people?
If so, young people with experience of care want you to understand their lives better, by attending this Who Cares? Scotland workshop which is being supported by our partners at Invest Renfrewshire, Skills Development Scotland and Renfrewshire Council .
In keeping with our ethos of working in the heart of the community, we will be holding this next event at The Watermill Hotel in Paisley.
Who Cares? Scotland is a Scotland wide organisation that represents care experienced young people. We work across Renfrewshire supporting children and young people who are looked after at home, in kinship care, foster care, live in a children’s house and also care leavers.
This interactive and informal workshop will take you on a journey, giving you an insight into what life is really like for this group of young people who live in your community, in their own words. We want you to leave this workshop feeling empowered, having learned how you, your organisation, group, business and community can help local young people and improve their life chances.
Young people in care of the local authority are all of our children and will thrive with the acceptance and support of their local communities.
We warmly invite you to forward this invitation to other interested professionals, friends, volunteers, business partners and community groups.
Just click ‘Register’ and enter some short details to register your attendance.
What are my transport/parking options for getting to and from the event?
The Watermill has onsite parking, but is Pay & Display. It is easily accessible by car and public transport.
Is there a cost for this event?
This workshop is free to attend. There is a significant cost to our charity for hosting the event, so we do ask that you try to attend if you sign up for a place, or cancel your place via Eventbrite in advance if your plans change. This helps us avoid paying out unnecessary costs that could otherwise be spent on activities with young people. Thanks for your support.
What do I need to bring?
Just yourself. Please arrive for a prompt 2pm start – coffee, tea and biscuits will be provided.
How many tickets can I book for my organisation?
Please book as many as you like. Please just register each name individually so that we know who to expect on the day. We will increase the size of the event or host another date is response to demand.
How can I contact the organiser with my questions?
Please contact the team at any time, at firstname.lastname@example.org
