Renfrewshire Annual Employability Partnership Conference 2019
“Inclusive Growth: No One Left Behind in Renfrewshire”
We were delighted to see such good representation from across a range of local organisations at this year’s Employability Partnership Conference which took place on 2nd October 2019 at Johnstone Town Hall. The conference focussed on the area’s response to the Scottish Government “No One Left Behind” strategy and the work of the Local Employability Partnership to help identify those most at risk of being left behind. It also provided a platform for partnership discussion and responses on how we support some of our most disadvantaged groups to improve their life chances through future employment.
The conference was aimed at workers from organisations in the Renfrewshire area who provide either personal, financial, vocational, employment and or housing support to priority groups.
We had the pleasure of welcoming Victoria Beattie, the new Head of the Employability Unit at Scottish Government who has a key role in developing the new employability service model for Scotland. Victoria delivered a presentation about No One Left Behind which is at the core of the area’s inclusive growth approach and is a key contributor to the anti-poverty strategy. Aims of the conference:
- To widen the knowledge of local staff of the employability support for disadvantaged people across Renfrewshire.
- To encourage referrals to employability services and to generate positive networking and partnership approaches amongst local staff and organisations.
- To get people from a wide range of backgrounds to jointly discuss key issues relating to the groups.
The day was a great opportunity for staff across Renfrewshire to network with colleagues from a wide range of agencies and organisations and get involved in shaping future employability services across the area.
