Invest in Renfrewshire worked with Hillington-based Alexander Wines – a family-owned wine wholesaler supplying Scotland’s top hospitality outlets for over 35 years.

The business was established in 1981 after owner, Fraser Alexander, left university and invested his savings in an old, beat up truck to drive to France and source wines for the burgeoning Glasgow wine scene. Since then, he hasn’t looked back, building a solid customer base across the country and establishing a range of quality conscious, award-winning suppliers.

As the marketplace evolved, Alexander Wines identified online communication and the development of a new website as vital to raising the profile of the company.

General Manager Paul Graham said: “Our old website was very dated and wasn’t doing us any favours if new customers were to come across it. So, with the help of Invest in Renfrewshire, we sought to amend this issue and now have a fresh, informative and user friendly website.

Grant funding to support the development of the new website was accessed through Invest in Renfrewshire. They previously accessed the services of Invest in Renfrewshire to support staff in gaining Wine and Spirit Education Trust Level 4 Diploma through the Renfrewshire Business Training Support (RBTS).
