Trauma Informed Practice training Various dates Nov 23- March 24

Small Change Big Impact Workshop

Trauma is everyone’s business and every member of the Scottish Workforce has a role to play in understanding and responding to people affected by trauma. This does not mean that everyone needs to be a trauma expert – we know that different expertise and skills are required to support people’s recovery – but it does mean that all workers, in the context of their own role and work remit, have a unique and essential trauma informed role to play in responding to people who are affected by trauma. Being ‘trauma informed’ means being able to recognise the prevalence of trauma and the impact it can have on individuals with a view to ensuring that we create a supportive environment that prioritises safety, trust and empathy. We hope that by holding facilitated conversations staff will adopt the mantra “see the person differently and you will see a different person” and recognise that it is the small changes that have the biggest impact!

The 2.5-hour workshop will support Employability practitioners to increase there understanding of what being “trauma informed” means in line with the National Trauma Training Programme  Every participant will receive a workbook they can complete during session and take away for as a future resource.
