Modern Apprenticeship Programme
Renfrewshire Council’s Modern Apprenticeship Programme (MAP) has been in place for almost 15 years and in that time has supported over 600 young Renfrewshire residents into employment.
Modern Apprenticeships support young people, usually aged 16 – 24 into employment. However, they can also support young people up to age 29, if they are disabled or are care experienced.
Participants gain work experience related to their particular occupational requirements. They will have an Individual Training Plan and complete an appropriate SCQF Level 5 or SCQF Level 6 qualification which will be delivered and assessed by our internal Council Employability Programmes team or may involve attendance at a local Further Education College.
For 2020 / 2021 (April 2020 – March 2020) Renfrewshire Council will have up to 41 opportunities available across the following frameworks: Business Administration, Horticulture, Motor Vehicle Mechanic, Children and Young People (Early years) and various Construction roles.
Modern Apprenticeships take between 1 to 4 years to complete, depending on the framework undertaken.
Most of our apprenticeships are delivered within Council services. However, we do manage and support a number of opportunities which are delivered by local businesses.
