Renfrewshire Council’s Modern Apprenticeship Programme (MAP) has been in place for over 10 years and in that time has supported over 450 young Renfrewshire residents into employment.
Modern Apprenticeships support young people aged 16 – 24 into employment. Participants gain work experience related to their particular occupational requirements. They will have an Individual Training Plan and complete an SVQ Level 3 qualification, which will be delivered and assessed by our internal Council Employability Programmes team or may involve attendance at a local Further Education College.
For the 2017/18 contract year (April 2017 – March 2018) Renfrewshire Council will have up to 38 opportunities available across the following frameworks: Business Administration, Procurement, Horticulture and Construction.
Modern Apprenticeships take between 1 to 4 years to complete.

The ultimate aim of Modern Apprenticeships is for participants to move seamlessly into full time employment on completion of their apprenticeship. This is where our programme consistently excels with over 90% of our apprentices going on to full-time employment and forging careers within the Council and local businesses.
