Invest in Renfrewshire Partnership Conference on Employability

June 18th 2015 was the Renfrewshire Council 3rd annual Invest in Renfrewshire Partnership Conference on Employability. The theme for the conference and for the year ahead was “Building on Success” where it discussed how we will be moving forward from a position of some strength to continue to maximise local opportunities, to identify new initiatives and approaches, and to ensure that our communities, and in particular those who are unemployed, benefit from local regeneration programmes such as the Glasgow and Clyde Valley City Deal.

• The conference aimed to target a large number of employability, regeneration and business development practitioners from across Renfrewshire and provided:
• An update from last years conference;
• An opportunity to network with other local practitioners;
• A better awareness of what is happening and what is available across Renfrewshire in relation to employability, local regeneration programmes and business / economic growth;
• Information on a range of new initiatives;
• Plans for the future.

During the conference prominent speakers provided inputs on a number of initiatives such as the upcoming City Deal, Paisley Regeneration and new Invest in Renfrewshire programmes. Information was also provided on Welfare reform, updates on services and partnership details and overall employment and training opportunities across all sectors.
